About Us
Our ethos has developed from the belief that swimming can be an enjoyable and interactive experience. We aim to provide your child with a safe and welcoming environment where they can acclimate to the new experience of swimming. This approach fosters confidence and equips your child with essential life skills, giving them a significant advantage in various aspects of their life.
Why we do what we do
The significance of child development is paramount; therefore, we tailor our approach to align with each child's individual pace and developmental stage.
Our distinctive teaching methods emphasise play and exploration, active learning, creative thinking, and fostering independent choices. Our swimming lessons provide an excellent foundation, promoting confidence in the water while simultaneously facilitating early learning experiences. These sessions equip your child with essential skills necessary for holistic development, enabling them to flourish in life.
We also recognise the importance of teaching children essential water safety skills and ensuring their competence in and around water.
How we do what do we do
We are of the opinion that a maximum of six parent/child pairs constitutes the ideal size for our group lessons.
This arrangement enables each swimming instructor to tailor their teaching approach to address the needs of every child, thereby concentrating on their individual development, technique, and abilities. Instruction is delivered through the different types of play, songs, and a variety of activities. Engaging children in experiences that are rich in sensory stimulation is an excellent method to provide them with the strong foundations they require.
Our instructional programme is carefully designed to align with specific swimming milestones provided by the Swim England (SE) ‘Learn to swim’ Framework, in addition to incorporating the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) the Aqua Sensory® and Water’s Touch programs.
Aqua Sensory® / Water’s Touch
Aqua Sensory®, established in 2013, specialises in training for aquatic professionals.
The organisation is committed to promoting a gentle approach to water for young children and providing support to their primary caregivers and parents. Aqua Sensory® integrates sensory discovery play with child development principles. Their methodology offers a comprehensive and holistic perspective on swimming for infants and young children.
To enhance the understanding of the program's underlying principles, Aqua Sensory® collaborates with experts across various disciplines, including psychologists, occupational therapists, health and wellness coaches for parents, as well as signing and holistic education specialists.
Child Led
At Tiny Swimming, we take great pride in our commitment to a child-led approach and consistently aim for excellence in all our endeavours.
While it is simple to declare our focus on being child-centred-employing a holistic approach that places the child at the heart of our practices-it is often a gradual process that requires careful adjustment. The deeper our understanding of the underlying principles and methodologies, the better we can support and empower our swimming families in the pool.
Empowering Parents copy
Together we can make a difference within the aquatic environment by empowering our parents; to develop their children's swimming abilities by serving as exemplary role models and enhancing parent-infant relationships and connections.
In our swim lessons, babies and toddlers engage in learning to swim alongside you in the water. Therefore, we dedicate time to instructing you as well, ensuring that you feel at ease and self-assured with all of our swimming techniques and holds. We observe, listen, and learn collectively, assisting you in interpreting your child's signals and cues related to their readiness for aquatic activities.
